What To Expect
We are passionate about the presence of God and we love worship. We have a contemporary upbeat style of worship; from praise songs to passionate worshipful music. We believe in using instruments, singing, and at times dancing as biblical expressions of love to our God.
The Word of God is incredibly important to us and we give honor to the exposition and preaching of Scripture as the Word of God. Be prepared to be challenged and encouraged through the teaching and preaching of God’s word.
We believe that the practical outworking of our relationship to the Lord will be seen in our relationships to each other. Here at RCC you will find a warm, “real” and inviting atmosphere where relationships can be discovered and fostered.
You will find a great desire to see God impact our community and region with the life changing message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Dress? Our attitude is “come as you are” you will likely see people of all ages in our gatherings dressed in jeans and a t-shirt as well as those who prefer to wear a suit and tie. Whatever makes you comfortable.
The Bible is the word of God.
There is one God who manifests in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
In the Deity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His death as a sacrifice for our sins, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to heaven at God’s right hand, in His return to this earth in power and glory to rule a thousand years.
In the Blessed Hope – the rapture of the church at Christ’s coming.
The only way to be cleansed of sin is through Repentance and Faith in the precious blood of Christ.
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.
In the Resurrection of both the saved and lost, the one to eternity with God and the other to everlasting separation from God.
Rochester Christian Church began in the 70’s with a core group of people meeting in a home, desiring more of God in their lives. Then Pastor Arnold Hashman, formally of Pontiac First Assembly of God, had a heart to “plant” a church in Rochester, Michigan. In November of 1973, with seven people in attendance, Rochester First Assembly of God was established. RFA is an affiliate of the General Council of the Assemblies of God.
Rochester Christian Church has been growing ever since its inception. We have moved from a small octagon shaped building with seating for 200, to our current location at 4435 North Rochester Road, just outside the city of Rochester. The campus is bustling with enthusiastic worshippers on this 25 acre plot of “God given” land. The building has changed from the original to include a Family Life Center wing in 2004. Also, in June 2004, God brought Richard Crisco to Rochester Christian Church to lead our congregation. Since that time we have seen increase in all areas of ministry to the community and world.
Rochester First Assembly became Rochester Christian Church in January 2016. The name was changed to better reflect who we are as a congregation. We are a product of our declarations:
